The Book Blogger Hop was originally created by Jennifer @ Crazy-For-Books in March 2010 and ended on December 31, 2012. With Jennifer's permission, Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer relaunched the hop on February 15, 2013.
Each week the hop will start on a Friday and end the following Thursday. There will be a weekly prompt featuring a book related question. The hop's purpose is to give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend other bloggers, and receive new followers to your own blog.
This week’s question:
My Answer:
I don't think breaks from blogging are good. It's an awful lot like going to church. The more you stay away, the harder it is to come back. I've had many friends that decided to take blogging breaks, and sadly most of them have not returned. When I am feeling overwhelmed with blogging, rather than taking a break, I simply cut back on the number of posts. Slow down the pace a bit, and then when I am ready, it's full speed ahead again.

Interesting answer. While I don't know how to feel about blogging being compared to church, I do agree with how once you've been out of the blogging scene for awhile, it's harder to comeback right because the scene changes so much.
ReplyDeleteI giggled when you said "an awful lot like going to church." Having a relaunch or comeback plan after an break is essential. But, your tip is even better. Just slowing down provides the same rejuvenation as a hiatus.
ReplyDeleteThe one time I took an unplanned break I didn't have a comeback plan. But, thanks to Goodreads posting to my blog (boy, do I dislike the formatting) I was able to at least have some drafts to work on and upload.
