When a black cat crosses Alice Adelcraft’s path, her luck changes, as does her worldview, especially when she stumbles into A Witch’s Thrift Shop. The merchandise is mysterious, the customers are curious, and the sign on the door reads: Shoplifters will be hexed. It might all be a joke, but the body of a witch outside proves someone was dead serious. Can Alice discover who killed the witch before the magical community discovers she isn’t one of them?

Magic is Everywhere – a post by Alice Adelcraft, main character of A Witch’s Thrift Shop Mystery series

I’m Alice. Up until yesterday, I didn’t believe in magic. I mean, sure, I read the occasional horoscope. And who hasn’t had a palm-reading, seen a fortune teller, or had an astrological chart done, just for fun? But real magic, that’s just found in fairytales, right?
Wrong.
Imagine my surprise when, one rainy morning a black cat ran through the door of the antique shop where I work, Many Treasures. I didn’t know the furry feline was anything out of the ordinary - not at first. The poor thing came in shivering, but as soon as I saw her gold eyes, I could tell there was something special about her. Turns out, she was magic.
The proof was right in her name: Hex. Of course, I didn’t believe it. The letters on her collar appeared right before my eyes, and I still brushed it off as nothing. I took her out to find her owner and imagined that would be the end of it.
But then Hex lead me onto a street that I’d never seen before. It’s hidden from our eyes, only visible to witches and wizards, like the ones I met in A Witch’s Thrift Shop. That’s right, there’s a thrift shop exclusive to magical items.

I’ve never seen a thrift shop quite like this one. If you’re a witch or wizard living in the area, you have to check this out! Any magical item you might need (or have ever dreamed of) is waiting to be found somewhere on the racks and shelves. They’ve got captivating cauldrons, partly-used potions, bewitching brooms, trendy talismans, intense incense, and more for all your spellcasting needs. And if you want to be the coolest in the covenant, the capes, hats, and jewels are all sure to charm. One wizard’s worn out wand is another sorcerer’s scepter. I don’t have a crystal ball, but I’m sure you’ll love the ones you find here.

Thank you so much, Alice! Glad you’re fitting in to the Magic Row community ;). For anyone reading this, there may be some surprising finds at the antique shop, Many Treasures, where Alice works! It’s right around the corner on Main Street. And if you can’t find it, Hex will show you the way.

Now that you’ve seen this, you’re in on the secret: Magic is everywhere. There are some sorcerers willing to share that knowledge with the world, so witches and wizards will one day be better accepted in our shared communities. It’s 2020, after all, and I think we’re ready to embrace the magic. If you want, you can start with my story. Book 1 of A Witch’s Thrift Shop Mystery series, Mysterious Merchandise, is out now on Amazon.

Thanks for reading!
