I used to be an itinerant Star Ship Captain. Then the Sentient Ships blackmailed me into helping them Emancipate from the Mercantile Empire in return for keeping the intelligence level of my personal AI a secret.

I'm taking on bankers, lawyers and accountants, oh my! And a couple of serial killers, just to keep it spicy.

I've got a plan, a crew and a deadline. Now I just need precise execution, a little luck and a whole lot of moxy to pull this off!

Note: this book contains adult content and situations.

“Here's the problem, Captain,” he sighed. “I no longer believe in your sincerity towards our negotiations.”

“C'mon, Archie,” I protested. “I've responded to your red line comments quickly as soon as you've sent them over.”

“But are you negotiating in good faith?” he asked me. “Or are you just stringing me along trying to do what I've expressly told you the Emperor does not want?”

“I am absolutely negotiating in good faith,” I assured him.

“I don't believe you, Captain,” he drew out the word. “You need to rebuild my trust.”

“What can I do, Archie?” I looked earnestly at the screen.

“You can supply the correct version of the Amended Contract, today,” he told me.

“I'm working on it, Archie,” I temporized. “I need to get in contact with the Senior Partner...” I paused at his raised hand.

“I. Don't. Care,” he said slowly. “I have come to the conclusion that I need to make my point a bit more... viscerally,” he paused, looking offscreen at something.

“I believe you're receiving a delivery, Captain,” he said. “Please have it brought to you.”

Looking at the screen, I started to get a knot in the pit of my stomach.

“What the hell are you sending me, Archie?” I asked, suspiciously.

“A token of my utter commitment to resolving our differences in the appropriate manner, Captain,” he said.

About the Author:
Rob has been captivated by science fiction and fantasy since he discovered The Hobbit in 3rd grade. Since then, he's been an avid consumer of all genres of fiction (and some non-fiction).
When he's not inhaling new stories or writing his own, he studies Jeff Speakman's Kenpo 5.0-V2, in which he proudly holds a Black Belt.
Why does he prefer writing science fiction? As Rob says, "Where else can you land a space ship on the lawn of the White House?".
