While My Guitar Gently Sleeps

by Jason Lee Christopher

Children's

The babies lay quiet;

they won't make a peep,

while my guitar gently sleeps.

Inspire your child on the path to music through this soothing nursery rhyme between a boy and his guitar, as he anticipates, dreams, and reflects on the joy they share.

Excerpt:

Time to lay you back down and close up your case

To tuck you away in our special place.

The sun has gone down, the moon lights the street

While my guitar gently sleeps.

REVIEW:

While My Guitar Gently Sleeps is a beautifully written piece of poetry for children. This poem describes a child's love for music - how he dreams of all the music they will make during the day. The book is inspiring for those who love music, singing, and guitar playing.

I would most definitely recommend this book to someone with children to have and to cherish. It’s an easy read and the illustrations are absolutely spot on perfect for the book.

I was provided a digital copy for use during a book tour without obligation of a positive review.

  5. I love this! Well first and foremost, I'm a Beatles fan so I instantly identified the similarity between this title and While My Guitar Gently Weeps. I love the idea of a story that introduces music to children. Music is vital to life, whether we play it, sing it, hum it or just listen to the lyrics and the rhythm and the rhyme. Music feeds the soul. My question for the author is, do you have more books like this planned?

    1. Hi Elizabeth, I am really glad you enjoy the story. It sounds like we share the same enthusiasm for music and introducing it to children. I do have other stories written which revolve around music that I am hoping to get out. My next release is about a girl not being able to stop dancing because every time she hears music, she gets "Dance in Her Pants!" After "dance in my Pants," the next book I plan to put out revolves around kids being introduced to musical instruments, it is called "My Flute Did A Toot! It explores the fun, the challenges, and the amazing reward of being able to play an instrument.
      Thank you again, and I hope you also enjoyed the lullaby we created. You can see and hear it on the youtube link above.
