Tucked away inside an old lighthouse in Beacon Harbor, Michigan, bakeshop café owner Lindsey Bakewellis ready to make her first Christmas in town shine bright. But her merry plans crumble fast when murder appears under the mistletoe . . .

With the spirit of the holidays wafting through the Beacon Bakeshop, Lindsey thinks she has the recipe for the sweetest Christmas ever—winning the town-wide cookie bake-off. Unfortunately, striving for a picture-perfect December in Beacon Harbor is a lot like biting into stale shortbread. Low on staff and bombarded by visits from family, Lindsey can barely meet demands at work, let alone summon the confidence to face fierce competition . . .

Self-appointed Christmas know-it-all Felicity Stewart is determined to take the top spot in the bake‑off, and she’s not afraid to dump a little coal in everyone’s stocking to do it. Just as the competition heats up, everything falls apart when the judge is found dead—and covered in crumbs from Lindsey’s signature cookie!

Solving a murder was never on Lindsey’s wish list. But with her reputation on the line during the happiest time of the year, she’ll need to bring her best talents to the table in order to sift out the true Christmas Cookie culprit.

Includes Delicious Recipes!

Christmas in Beacon Harbor

 by Kennedy Kapoor

Hello, Kennedy Kapoor here. I like to tell people that I’m English by birth and American by choice. Truthfully, I had every intention of retuning to London after my years at Columbia University. That was until I met Lindsey Bakewell. We were roommates then, but the moment I met her I knew that we’d be besties. Funny that, because we’re both very different people. As for me, my mum’s English and my dad’s of Indian descent. Although I feel that I’m a good mixture of both my parents, I definitely have my dad’s black hair and expressive onyx eyes. My mum was quite the English beauty in her day. From her I get my looks, my stubbornness, and my passion for shopping. The sass, I’m afraid, is all my own.

Lindsey, on the other hand, is not only beautiful, but tall, slender, blonde, and with the most stunning seafoam green eyes I’ve ever seen. She smiles easily and is kind to everyone she meets. And that girl is smart! She really has a way with numbers! In fact, her passion for numbers is equal to my passion for fashion and charge cards. Lindsey was there for me when I dug myself into quite the financial hole that I could see no way of getting out of. When I was at my lowest, Lindsey saw a way out for me, and stayed with me every agonizing step of the way. That’s the that kind of friend she is. Also, her mum just happens to be Ellie Montague Bakewell, the glamorous 80s fashion model who graced the cover of nearly every magazine of that era. Although Lindsey is far more practical and grounded than Ellie, I do believe that growing up with a mum like that gave Lindsey the patience to deal with a friend like me. I can be a bit of a diva too, but Lindsey always has my back. And I have hers. Always.

Things were going just fine for us in New York City. My career as a fashion influencer and podcaster was really taking off, and Lindsey had a killer job on Wall Street. We were two modern women making our way in the world on our own terms when that wanker, Jeffery Plank, ruined it all. Lindsey had been engaged to him, and Jeffery had broken her heart. Side note here, I never did like the arrogant prat. And I liked him even less when Linds went mental and bought a lighthouse in some godforsaken state called Michigan. Michigan, really? I thought she was bonkers when she quit her great job and moved to Beacon Harbor, Michigan, determined to follow her dream and open a bakery in that rank old lighthouse. But that’s exactly what she did. I didn’t understand it until the day I saw it with my own eyes. That was the day I realized that Lindsey had literally created her dream job, and she was glowing with happiness. Welly, her adorable Newfie, was glowing with happiness too. How could I be angry with that? And even more surprising was that Linds had found a new man to drool over, a man named Rory Campbell. Sure, he’s tall and muscly, with a thick neck and smart-cut hair the color of espresso. And I begrudgingly have to admit that he has a charming smile and bright blue eyes that are quite compelling. He seems nice enough, but it’s hard to overlook that fact that he wears a lot of plaid flannel shirts, camo, and Carhart. He’s also into catching his own meats, which earned him the name, Sir Hunts-a-lot from me. I delight in teasing the man. So far he’s been a good sport about it.

Even though I’m a bit lonely in New York City without my bestie, I’m happy for Lindsey. Michigan isn’t so far. I do visit from time to time. And I’m especially excited because I’m about to fly out to Beacon Harbor to spend the holidays with Linds and her parents. I can’t wait to see what that beautiful old lighthouse looks like when it’s all lit up with Christmas lights. And I just know that there’s going to be so many delectable baked goods to eat when I arrive. I’ve been dieting for months in anticipation! That’s one of the best perks about having a bestie who’s a fabulous baker and cook. The food is beyond amazing! Yet best of all, Ellie and I have quite the surprise for Linsey. I cannot wait to see her face when we tell her our big news. She’s going to be so excited. I’m excited too, because if all goes as planned, I’ll be spending more time with my dearest friend in Beacon Harbor, Michigan.
