Her new clients, Sean and Olivia Chen, are ten days away from the grand opening of their specialty consignment shop when Coco stumbles across their store clerk Stacy dead behind the register.

Worried that a cloud of suspicion will ruin their chances of a successful business launch, the Chens ask Coco to work alongside the inexperienced Central Shores police force to speed up the investigation. Using her celebrity status and social media savviness, Coco realizes Stacy’s seemingly ordinary life was all an act. Following a trail of cryptic online posts, confusing timelines, and muddied gossip, Coco and her friends discover Stacy’s questionable relationships just might be the reason for her untimely demise.

Murder is about to go viral in #FollowMe for Murder, a Trending Topic Mystery.

My Social Media Philosophy: Go Kind or Bust

by Coco Cline

Hi, all. Coco Cline, here. Thank you so very much for having me here at Literary Gold. As a blogger myself, I very much appreciate the dedication and time it takes to cultivate a blog. I run a popular lifestyle blog called Trending Topic. It has taken me on quite a wild journey. I am so fortunate that I can live comfortably in my hometown of Central Shores, Delaware, right on the beach, and do what I love for a living.

When I’m not prepping blog posts or sharing updates with my followers, I’m working on growing my social media marketing business, Center of Attention. I started this little firm to help small business owners increase their revenue by enhancing their social media presence. Social media is a beast of a tool, and I want to help others use it to its fullest potential. Although, trust me, I know the pitfalls of the online world, too.

Every day, I wake up to find that someone has left a hurtful comment on Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, you name it. Trolls are everywhere and, some days, it feels like the Internet runs on negativity, not connectivity. But instead of letting those comments get me down, I realize how blessed I am that my outlook on life is not to spread hate or anger but to spread fun, joy, and love.

That’s why I encourage my followers to share all the fun, happy moments in their life with the Trending Topic community. Share the moments that literally make you laugh out loud. Share the struggles you’ve overcome and the triumphs you’ve felt. We need more positivity online, and I do my best, as an influencer, to create safe spaces where positivity can be nurtured. My rule of thumb: if it’s not kind, helpful, or compassionate, I don’t bother posting.

But boy, it can be hard to be positive, especially if a troll is coming for you. My advice? Do not engage. I know it can be challenging; you want to defend your honor or your viewpoint, but trolls will troll no matter how eloquently you respond. Trolls troll because they are looking to pick a fight. Yet, if no one responds to them, their purpose becomes moot. Picture how much nicer places like Twitter would be if kindness and compassion ruled the web. The thought makes you smile, doesn’t it?

So, instead of responding to any vitriol, set your phone down and give your pet a hug. Or hug your partner, roommate, friend, mom, or dad. Every time social media comes at you negatively, respond by sharing love and kindness with the real world around you. It’s a powerful feeling, and it transforms how mean, rude comments affect you. It makes the online negativity more bearable, more trivial until you realize there’s no need for it at all.

By embracing the love and goodness around us, we become stronger and more positive forces in the world. This viewpoint will reflect on your social media, as well. Negativity rolls off your shoulders because nothing good comes from it. So, the next time you’re scrolling through your newsfeed, I hope you’ll consider my philosophy: Go Kind or Bust. Together, we can make the Internet a better, kinder place.

Wait! Stop! Are you leaving the same old comment on all the blog pages? Try switching things up a bit. I love reading your comments, but if its the same thing each time... it feels like spam. And NO ONE likes spam...
Please make sure the comments you leave are related to the post, and are at least eight words in length.
