SON OF ASMODEUS

SON OF ASMODEUS

by Barb Jones

GENRE:  Paranormal romance

Birthright. Protector. Heaven. Hell.

A lone demon hunter, his true birthright unknown, roams the streets of Los Angeles while killing demons to prevent atrocities against the world. As the son of Asmodeus, Sully is a hunter feared by both demons and angels. His world was not the same once he walked into a bar and offered to help Mick, a gothic bartender.

Mick worried about her missing friend until the day she met Sully. The minute he walked into her bar and offered his help, her world changed. Secrets of her destiny unlocked, and he was at her side everywhere she turned. Friend. Protector.

Can they live with the secrets that are revealed to them? Will they survive the chase for the truth between Heaven and Hell?

Excerpt:

Sully was in disbelief. He’d heard of Asmodeus, one of the most powerful demons in the world, but did not realize that he was his father. Asmodeus was the king of all demons and if Edward, the child, is also his son, that truly made them brothers. Do they share the same mother? He realized he had more questions than before.

“Thanks, Malcolm. I don’t trust anybody usually, so that will serve me well. What will happen to me if I wear this ring? Demons already know how to find me. I don’t want to be their attraction magnet even more.”

Malcolm laughed. “Take this bowl. I’ll bring the plates. We will have time to talk more later. Wearing that ring will inform the demons who either serve Asmodeus or oppose him that you are his rightful heir. Those were my instructions from him. To tell you your father’s name.”

“I hate games.”

Q&A With the Author:

What did you enjoy most about writing this book?

For me, I enjoyed being able to combine demons and angels in way that did involve the Bible relationship that they share without being overly religious. Where there’s a demon, there has to be an angel – similar to good vs evil. I couldn’t just see a hunter killing demons for the fun of it. I loved integrating demons into humans’ lives and having them relate more to each other. The Heaven and Hell Series is a new favorite of mine!

Do you have any other books you are working on that you can tell us about?

I love talking about my works in progress! I generally write between 3-4 books at a time. My brain won’t let me write one at a time. Right now, I’m putting the finishing touches on Blood Prophecy II: Rise of the Hunter (Book 4), The Devil Inside Me (Standalone Horror), and the second book in the Heaven and Hell Series: Hell Hounds Unleashed (Working title). I am also in discussions with four other authors in which we are creating a shared universe that will span our own series involving a shared character in the American Southwest. This adventure is proving to be much fun right now too. I can’t wait to get started on the research for this one, and I need to plan my research trips.

Can you tell us about what you have planned for the future?

This year, I am working with a fantastic film director to bring Son of Asmodeus to life. The movie will be called Demon Destroyer: Son of Asmodeus. While it has taken me away from some of the writing, I am still working on my books.  I have planned trips and appearances at Comic Cons and other events. I’m working with a travel planner to organize a specific trip to the UK later this year. My books are now in the Book Dragon Store in the UK, and I am planning on the signing event for them later in October. While in the UK, I plan to make additional stops over a fourteen-day window for appearances, signings, and research.

How long have you been writing?

I’ve been writing since I was 9, but telling stories much longer than that. My fourth-grade teacher convinced me to write down my stories and see what would happen. At first, I thought she wanted me to stop scaring the other students with my scary stories, but she was right. I’m glad I listened because writing is a passion of mine.

Anything more you would like to say to your readers and fans?

I know many authors constantly post about wanting reviews, but I don’t. Instead, I ask my readers to work with me by creating contests for them. I appreciate reviews, don’t get me wrong, but I prefer my friendships with my readers more than anything else. Let me give you some examples. I create contests where my readers can develop characters with me (they get credited in the books), pick an ending they prefer, help me with titles, and more! I have even been known to send birthday cards to my readers. I get lots of emails from my readers, and that means more to me than a review. Think of it this way – I stay true to who I am when I write, but I write for my readers.
