About Jackie Layton

Jackie Layton is the author of cozy mysteries with Spunky Southern Sleuths. Her stories are set in Texas, Georgia, and South Carolina. She lives on the coast of South Carolina where she enjoys walks on the beach and golf cart rides around the marsh. Reading, gardening, and traveling are some of her favorite hobbies. She always keeps a notebook handy to write down ideas for future stories. Be careful what you say around her, because it might end up in a book.

Q&A With the Author:

What did you enjoy most about writing this book?

I enjoyed the research on flowers and Texas. Part of my family live in Texas, and it made me feel closer to them which was a nice surprise.

Do you have any other books you are working on that you can tell us about?

Clutter Free the first book in An Organized Crime Cozy Mystery will release this fall. The main character is a professional organizer, and the story takes place on the coast of Georgia.

Can you tell us about what you have planned for the future?

I’m contracted for two more books in A Texas Flower Farmer Cozy Mystery series, plus there will be three books in An Organized Crime Cozy Mystery series. Book six of A Low Country Dog Walker Mystery series will release in February 2024, and it’s the last book in the series. I’d also like to write a traditional mystery one day, but it’ll be a while before I get to it.

How long have you been writing?

At the first conference I attended for authors, a speaker said it takes an average of ten years to get published. I was shocked, but I didn’t want to give up. It did take ten years though, and my first cozy mystery came out in 2020.

Anything more you would like to say to your readers and fans?

Thank you so much for reading my books.

For those of you who’ve followed Andi Grace Scott in A Low Country Dog Walker Mystery series, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed when you read the last book.

I hope you all will enjoy traveling to Texas for the Flower Farmer series. I first started visiting Texas multiple times a year in 2017, and I’ve grown to love the state.

An Organized Crime Cozy Mystery series is set off the coast of Georgia which is another state I love. I attended college at the University of Georgia, and Tybee Island was the closest beach to Athens. When my husband and I started dating, we’d get up early in the morning and drive to Tybee and spend the day then turn around and drive back home.

Wait! Stop! Are you leaving the same old comment on all the blog pages? Try switching things up a bit. I love reading your comments, but if its the same thing each time... it feels like spam. And NO ONE likes spam...
