Perfect for fans of Paige Shelton, an Alaskan tour guide is bracing for winter when she realizes that the wolves aren’t the only predators on the prowl.
With boat tours off the coast of Alaska shut down for the winter, tour guide Stacie Calder is joining the dedicated team at the Juneau Wildlife World, a wild animal sanctuary. Along with Sasha, her husky companion, she’s prepared to spend the long season in the scenic park. But not everyone is so chipper about the newcomers—least of all, Stacie’s new manager, Oliver Brownling. He constantly gives Stacie a hard time, specifically because she brought Sasha along with her. That is, until his mauled body is found in a remote part of the sanctuary containing wolves.
When it becomes clear that a human was responsible for the brutal murder, all eyes are on Stacie. Encouraged by her friend, Officer Liam Amaruq of the Alaskan State Troopers, Stacie is resolved to find the murderer but knows that her investigation will be difficult with the long suspect list she’s made. Did the sanctuary director plot to get rid of Oliver? Or maybe it was one of Oliver’s coworkers, upset over a missed promotion? Stacie wonders about some of the newer employees, especially since Oliver’s personality made it easy to make enemies.
With the weather worsening, Stacie and Sasha are forced to stay at the sanctuary with the wolves—and her colleagues. As the storm gets worse, it’s clear that this killer has a taste for blood and may strike again. Will Stacie be able to find the murderer, or will the hunter become the hunted?

Q&A With the Author
What did you enjoy most about writing this book?
I enjoyed returning to Alaska, if only in my mind. Even more, visiting with wildlife, even fictional, is delightful for me. Plus, I really like the characters I introduced in the first book in the series, including Stacie Calder, a naturalist who gives tours when she can, as well as her wonderful husky Sasha. And figuring out another mystery for Stacie to solve? Heck, I enjoyed everything about CRY WOLF!
Do you have any other books you are working on that you can tell us about?
My mind is circulating around another Alaska Untamed book, but what I’m writing now is another Harlequin Romantic Suspense book in my miniseries Shelter of Secrets. It’s about yes, a shelter of secrets, where animals needing new homes are taken in and cared for, but the supposedly homeless people hired to take care of them are actually people in danger, taken into protective custody. There have been three in the series published so far, with more to come: HER UNDERCOVER REFUGE, GUARDIAN K-9 ON CALL, and UNDERCOVER COWBOY DEFENDER. Oh, and by the way, I’ve got another book being published this November: CSI COLTON AND THE WITNESS, a Harlequin Romantic Suspense book, this one in the Coltons of New York series. And in case you’re wondering, Lark O. Jensen is my pseudonym for the Alaska Untamed series. I’m actually Linda O. Johnston.
Can you tell us about what you have planned for the future?
Definitely more books! All will contain suspense and romance—and whenever possible, dogs! I love including dogs in my stories.
How long have you been writing?
I’ve been writing pretty much all my life, although nothing came of my first attempt as a child to write a story about a boy and girl traveling the world. I started writing seriously when I worked in advertising and public relations, then became a lawyer. After all, as I enjoy saying, contracts are just another form of fiction! Now, though, I’m a full-time writer.
Anything more you would like to say to your readers and fans?
I hope you enjoy CRY WOLF, as well as the first in the Alaska Untamed mystery series, BEAR WITNESS.
