Q&A With the Author
What did you enjoy most about writing this book?
My favorite part would have to be meeting Piper’s, the main protagonist’s, mom. I had a vision for Sylvie Addison in my head and when I began to write her, seeing her come to life was amazing. It helped deepen the story, and I hope gave the reader a better understanding of the family dynamic between the women.
Do you have any other books you are working on that you can tell us about?Always! I am currently working on Guild of Ravens, the first book in The Gilded Queens. Guild of Ravens is an NA fantasy that follows Astrid Sawyer as she discovers a hidden realm right under her nose. Unfortunately for Astrid, the realm she stumbles into has a terrible prophecy where every century, four queens must die to sustain the magic of the land. What’s even more unfortunate is poor Astrid is one of the queens. . . Guild of Ravens is set to release January 30th, 2024, and I cannot wait!
Can you tell us about what you have planned for the future?I suppose it’s no surprise that Orchard Hollow was signed for another 3 books, so my future will be spent getting those ready. I am also planning a spinoff from the series based on a character we will meet in book 4, Devil in a French Press.
How long have you been writing?As long as I can remember. I wrote my first novel when I was twelve; it was a ghost story that was terrible and will never see the light of day. But it put a fire under me to write more and by the time I was in university, I was hooked. It took several poetry publications to get me moving into novels though, specifically fantasy and mystery. Now, I don’t know how I wrote anything else. I just love a good mystery!
Anything more you would like to say to your readers and fans?Make sure you look for Easter eggs in the books. I always add them in, and you never know when they’ll get discovered in future books. . .
