From author Lena Gregory comes a delicious new series that will warm your heart and leave you guessing until the very end…

When twenty-five-year-old Danika Delaney, black sheep of the Delaney clan, returns home to Long Island to take over Jimmie’s, her eccentric uncle’s old fashioned malt shop on eastern Long Island, she’s not exactly thrilled. But things start to look up when her uncle tells her she can do whatever she’d like with the shop, and it seems she might realize her dream of a small trendy café. That is, until she discovers the body of her ex-boyfriend’s estranged wife in a melted puddle of rocky road in the malt shop basement. With her two sidekicks, her sister and a good childhood friend, in tow, Dani searches for–or stumbles upon—one clue after another. But as she narrows down the suspect list, she realizes if she’s not careful she may end up in a puddle of her own…

About Lena Gregory

Lena grew up in a small town on the south shore of eastern Long Island, but she recently traded in cold, damp, gray winters for the warmth and sunshine of Central Florida, where she now lives with her husband, three kids, son-in-law, and four dogs. Her hobbies include spending time with family, reading, and walking. Her love for writing developed when her youngest son was born and didn’t sleep through the night. She works full time as a writer and a freelance editor and is a member of Sisters in Crime.

Q&A With the Author: Lena Gregory

What did you enjoy most about writing this book? I actually enjoyed everything about writing this book. It’s a bit different from any of my other books, so it was a learning experience too. This is the first book I’ve written in first person, and I found I really enjoyed it. It put me in my character’s point of view in a deeper way then writing in third person does. It also has a younger heroine (at twenty-five) than I usually write, so that was fun as well.

Do you have any other books you are working on that you can tell us about? Right now, I am working on the seventh All-Day Breakfast Café Mystery and the third Coffee & Cream Café Mystery. While it’s fun to get back to Gia and the gang in Boggy Creek, Florida, I also can’t wait to return to Long Island and Danika and her friends.

Can you tell us about what you have planned for the future? Right now, my plans include at least three more All-Day Breakfast Café Mysteries. I’m hoping to do at least four more Coffee & Cream Café Mysteries and a couple more Mini-Meadows Mysteries. After that, I’d like to return to the Bay Island Psychic Mysteries for at least one or two more books. I also have an idea for a new cozy series I’d love to explore, but that’s on the back burner while I work on all of these. Plus, I have four romantic suspense novels contracted that I write under a pen name, three young adult fantasies, and a middle grade fantasy that’s due out this summer. Did I mention I really love writing?

How long have you been writing? I first started writing twelve years ago, when my youngest son was born and didn’t sleep through the night. I’ve always enjoyed reading, but I decided to give writing a try. And I loved it!

Anything more you would like to say to your readers and fans? I would love to say thank you so very much to my readers and fans. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate all of you. I am so thrilled that you enjoy my stories, and I hope you’ll enjoy all of my new ones as well.

Thank you so much for having me!
